Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko has called on President Viktor Yushchenko's party to come back to the governing coalition.

Yushchenko's Our Ukraine-People's Self-Defense Bloc quit on Tuesday in protest to newly passed laws by Tymoshenko's bloc and the opposition Party of Regions, aimed at restricting the president's powers and making it easier to impeach him.

"You have 10 days of no ultimatum, no demands, (and) no provocation to come back to the democratic coalition," Tymoshenko said in a televised statement on Wednesday.

"I hope that our coalition partners are wise and have a well-considered approach. I believe the coalition will be maintained," she stressed.

Yushchenko has accused his rivals of orchestrating a political and constitutional coup against him and has threatened to call snap parliamentary elections.

Tymoshenko also accused President Viktor Yushchenko of wrecking the coalition and said her party was not looking for new partners.

Under the constitution, if a coalition dissolves, parliament will have 30 days to create a new one, or else president can call a snap election.

The two rival leaders were allies in 2004 Orange Revolution that swept Yushchenko to power on the promise of boosting ties with the European Union and the United States.
